Privacy Policy

Last updated: [DATE TO BE FILLED IN WHEN PUBLISHED]

Zavvy ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Zavvy app, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. This policy is prepared in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Information we collect

1.1 If you create an account

If you choose to register, we collect only the identifier associated with your chosen sign-in method — your email address, or your Apple ID or Google account identifier. We do not require or collect your name.

1.2 If you don't create an account

Zavvy can be used without registering. In this case, your cart items and saved/bookmarked products are stored against an anonymous device identifier rather than a personal account. This data is not linked to any personal information unless you later choose to register and link your anonymous session to an account.

1.3 Product interaction data

We record certain interactions with products in the app — including products you view, search for, save, or add to your cart. We use this information to power features like trending products and to help keep pricing data for relevant products up to date.

1.4 Price reports

If you submit a price correction or report through the app's Report Price feature, we collect and store that submission. We may use submitted price reports to verify and update pricing information shown in the app.

1.5 Analytics and error monitoring

We use PostHog for product analytics (understanding how the app is used) and Sentry for error monitoring (identifying and fixing technical issues). These tools may use cookies or similar local storage technologies on your device to distinguish you from other users of the app.

2. How we use your information

3. Who we share information with

We use the following third-party service providers to operate Zavvy. Each provider only receives the information necessary to perform its function:

Some of these providers may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Your rights

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time.

When you delete your account, your data is removed from our live database immediately. However, because we maintain routine data backups for the purpose of disaster recovery, residual copies of your data may persist in backup storage for up to 90 days before being permanently purged.

5. Data security and breach notification

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

6. Children's privacy

Zavvy is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
